The Japanese SII Printek/Seiko Epson company was founded in 1985 by Suwa Seikosha Co Ltd and Epson merged to form it, and its history can be traced back to the birth of the first quartz watch over a hundred years ago. The merged Seiko Epson Company is a global manufacturer of printers, computers, watches, liquid crystal displays (LCDs), integrated circuits, electronic devices, crystals, optical products, and factory automation systems. SII Printek is a subsidiary of Seiko, a Japanese company founded in 2001. SII Printek purchased the patent usage rights of Sail and developed a piezoelectric textile inkjet print head based on Sail technology, while Sail itself does not produce such products.
